07/09/2003 Luang Prabang, Laos
Lynn heard of a guest house here with free bananas and water. The Nock
Noy is run by 19 year-old Tui, who is quite possibly the friendliest kid on
planet Earth.
07/06/2003 Vang Vieng, Laos
If Laos were Mexico, Vang Vieng just might be Cancun. Guest houses
under construction along the main road are almost as plentiful as guests, and
the American beats thumped right up to curfew (11:30pm) from several Western-themed
bars. Adventure hiking, kayaking, and mountain biking are what put this town
on the backpacker map- and rightly so.
06/20/2003 Wat Monkey (for lack of a better name),
Prachuap Khiri Khan
I was the lone visitor that day to this wat at the top of the hill in the city
center.
06/21/2003 Koh Sam Roi Yot,
A rough hike for these pictures, and all I got was a poorly stitched 360 368k
or 1200k. Very serene-
I had the summit to myself for an hour until those four Thai girls came. Saw
many monks making their way up as I was descending.
06/21/2003 Phraya Nakhon Cave,
My new favorite place on Earth to play barefooted. These photos hardly capture
the fantastic size and lighting of the cave.
06/22/2003 Khao Luang Caves, Phetchaburi
John and I stopped here on the way back from Hua Hin. Lonely Planet describes
the cave as a "favorite for photographers," we got better shots outside.
